English courses in Abidjan — All levels, FDFP funding
English courses in Abidjan for individuals, students and professionals. Native instructors, immersive method, TOEIC/TOEFL certification, FDFP funding for employees.
Looking to learn English seriously in Abidjan or quickly level up for a professional project, study abroad, or an international test? AMBIZ has been delivering English courses since 1993 in Cocody Centre, with a team of native and bilingual instructors specialised in adult pedagogy.
Our teaching approach
Our English courses rest on a communicative, immersive method: you speak English from day one, work on concrete situations (meetings, travel, negotiations, presentations), and consolidate grammar as needs emerge. Instructors are native English speakers or fluent bilinguals, trained in adult pedagogy.
Each track starts with a placement test (oral + written) calibrating your level on the CEFR scale (A1 to C2). Groups are formed by homogeneous level for steady progress and comfort. Individual formats let us tune pace and content 100% to you.
Who our English courses are for
We welcome four main profiles: students targeting study abroad (US, Canada, UK), executives and professionals in international mobility, individuals with personal projects (mixed-culture marriage, long-term travel, retirement abroad), and companies training their teams (see our B2B offer).
- Complete beginners (A1) — Starting from zero or consolidating basics.
- Intermediate (A2-B1) — Understanding the gist but struggling to speak fluently.
- Advanced (B2-C1) — Communicating well, aiming for precision and polish.
- Bilingual (C2) — Maintenance, refinement, domain specialisation.
Formats, sessions and funding
We offer group classes (4 to 8 people, twice a week), semi-private (2-3 people) and private sessions in person in Cocody or via video. Evening (18:00-20:00), Saturday or 4-week intensive formats are available.
If you’re an employee of an Ivorian company, your training can be fully funded by FDFP. AMBIZ is FDFP-approved (No. 92-529): we handle the file and bill your employer directly. For individuals, we offer instalment plans (3 to 6 months interest-free).
Frequently asked questions
How long to reach B2 level?
From A2, plan an average of 240 to 320 hours of class to reach an operational B2. Twice a week, that’s 12 to 18 months; intensively, 4 to 6 months.
Are your instructors native?
Most are (American, British, Canadian, South African). The rest are fluent bilinguals with linguistics degrees, selected on teaching results.
Can I combine courses with TOEFL/TOEIC prep?
Yes. We design mixed tracks general English + test prep — particularly useful if you need both to level up and to hit a specific score.
Do you issue a certificate?
Yes: CEFR level certificate based on final oral + written assessment. Optionally, we offer the official TOEIC for internationally recognised certification.
