IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is the reference certification for studying or immigrating to Commonwealth English-speaking countries. AMBIZ prepares candidates for IELTS Academic and General Training in Abidjan.

IELTS Academic vs General Training

IELTS Academic is required for higher education (UK, Australia, NZ, Canada, increasingly US). IELTS General Training is required for immigration (Canada, Australia) and some professional English roles.

Both share structure: Listening, Reading, Writing, Speaking. Band 0-9 scoring. 7.0+ typically expected for good universities, 6.5+ average, 6.0 minimum for Canadian Express Entry.

Our IELTS method

IELTS specificity: face-to-face Speaking with an examiner (not recorded like TOEFL), and demanding Writing (letters, structured essays with graph analysis in Academic).

• Initial diagnostic and Academic/General routing.
• Speaking: face-to-face drills on all 3 parts.
• Writing: Task 1 and Task 2 structure, detailed corrections.
• Listening & Reading: scanning techniques, accent variety.

Duration and registration

Depending on starting level: 4 to 8 intensive weeks or 3-6 months classic. IELTS sessions run several times a month in Abidjan (IELTS Consortium centre). We help with official registration (~220 USD fee).
